CDS/ISIS (Computerized Documentation Service/Integrated Set of Information System)

WINISIS is a Windows version of the CDS/ISIS system (Computerized Documentation Service/Integrated Set of Information System) which was originated at ILO during the early 1960’s and is maintained and developed by UNESCO since 1970’s. 

In 1985, the first microcomputer version of CDS/ISIS was launched and since then it has been disseminated to over 20,000 institutions in various countries throughout the world. 

The first Window version (WINISIS) was distributed for testing in May 1995 and was officially launched in November 1998 as version 1.31.
This Unit briefly discusses the historical development of CDS-ISIS for DOS and for WINDOWS (WINISIS). 

The successive upgrading of the software and addition of several features over the past twenty years are also mentioned.
